| After breeding and raising llamas for the last 12 years, we were finally in a position to "upgrade" our herd. We did extensive research into what was "new" in the llama world and thus became interested in the Argentines. Two years ago we had four half Argentine crias. Right away we could tell that they were different, not just physically with that dense, lustrous fiber and heavier bone, but also with their sweet dispositions. Our 4H kids loved working with them and two of these part Argentines wond grand championships in the showmanship and obstacle classes at our fair. We decide then that we would invest in some full Argentines. This was not as easy as you might expect as we had to look far and wide in order to keep those bloodlines diverse. Over the past year and a half we have acquired part or full ownership in 11 Argentine llamas both male and female. We are very excited about having our first full Argentine crias this fall and Argentine Poncio's (co-owned with Lynda Carothers) first offspring. In conjunction with Carothers Country Farm, we will be offering a limited number of breedings to Argentine Poncio and Argentine Midas this spring. With the help of Gayle Dumas, The Fuzzy Farm, and Lynda Carothers, Carothers Country Farm, we have been able to promote our wonderful new additions to our herd. We feel that we can't go wrong with these rare and beautiful llamas, so... WHY NOT?
